Community projects

Blue influencers

Kingston Wesley Methodist Church, Hull

Young people who attend our youth sessions are currently making over the garden at our local church where we are based. They are part of the 'Blue influencers' project with another charity and have been creating a space for other young people and the local community to enjoy. Including renewing the garden, creating a wildlife area, wildlife pond, growing space for vegetables and picnic area for the community. I have including an image of a part of the garden the young people had cleared, before there was weeds and nettles over 4ft tall and no access down to that side.

Materials required

We require materials to create safe pathways down the garden such as pathing stones, gravel, bark for the flower beds etc. We also need membrane to stop weeds from growing through. We need wood to create benches, and frames for plant beds and the pond.
