The dB Matting range has been uniquely engineered to reduce both impact and airborne sound when laid over a structure. dB Matting is unique in as an acoustic matting as it can have a timber or laminate floor finished laid directly onto it without the requirement or a layer of ply or MDF. If the subfloor is level the dB Matting can be laid over the subfloor and the laminate or engineered wood can be laid directly over the rubber matting. This is due to the low deflection rate of the material, meaning there is little compression under a load. The dB Matting 15 as a deflection of just 0.4mm. dB Matting can also be used under Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) when coupled with the Jumpax dual overlay board, or the use of our 6mm T & G MDF. The acoustic rubber mat ensures high levels of impact sound reduction are met and due to the mass of the products there is also a high level of airborne noise reduction. dB Matting 15 is very versatile and easy to cut with a sharp long-bladed Trimming Knife. Score the surface then run through with the knife several times to avoid tearing. When used in the correct application, dB Matting 15 can be installed over timber, concrete and screed applied floors with lath and plaster, suspended timber/metal ceilings or Resilient Bar ceilings to ensure compliance to all UK Building Regulations. (I have half roll) What is this type of acoustic underlay? dB FFR 6mm Resilient Underlay is a fully recycled rubber designed for use with both soft and hard flooring, such as Engineered Timber, Laminate, Stone Flooring and Carpet. dB FFR 6mm is commonly used as an underscreed solution for new build concrete apartments, flats and hotels. dB FFR is used a an isolating rubber material to de-couple the structure from the floating screed. dB FFR is also used as an acoustic underscreed material for new build construction. In this application the material is laid over the concrete floor with our db RD Flanking strip around the perimeter and the screed poured over the dB FFR. This product can be used when developers are building new build apartments and not enrolled in robust details when they are looking for a cost effective alternative to Robust Details.
